ABOUT ME
Horses hit Wendy like an incurable disease at the age of 4 ½. She started off taking bareback riding lessons on ridiculously fat broodmares at a local riding facility in the town of Sebastopol where she grew up. Much to her parent’s dismay, she was hooked. As a young girl, she was already drawn to young horse breeding and training. By age 8 she owned multiple horses, several of which were foals that she eventually started and trained herself; even mucking stalls at a local ranch in exchange for one of her foals. At the age of 10, she was introduced to sport horses while attending a local summer camp offered by dressage trainer, Vicki Wall-Kelly, although it wasn’t until years later that she started taking dressage more seriously. In 1998, Wendy started Woodbridge Farm; a sport horse breeding facility in Redding, CA and made dressage and breeding her primary focus. After a short time of riding with dressage coach and Cleveland Bay breeder, Mary King, she was introduced to German Dressage trainer, Christiane Noelting. Wendy quickly became a permanent fixture at Christiane’s and has traveled with her around the country and to Europe for various competitions, symposiums and other events. This has helped Wendy to develop a much greater understanding in all aspects of the modern sport horse from history, bloodlines and breeding, to the proper training and development of young horses, on to competition and moving up the levels. In addition to clinic-ing with other well-respected trainers, Wendy still rides with Christiane today.
